Sauna Village

Two saunas are new: Original Finnish saunas built with "KELO" wood. This wood was harvested above the Polar Circle close to Ivalo under a waning moon, then transported to us here in Obertauern in order to give you the unique feeling of an original Finnish sauna experience.

This wood dries upon the trunk, giving it a ca. 2 cm strong, dry outer layer, which makes the wood less susceptible to shrinking and regulates water absorption and evaporation in a unique way, something essential to creating the unique climate in a real Finnish sauna.

We are convinced that you, too, will truly appreciate this gem of Finnish sauna architecture. Important for this style of sauna is that temperatures are kept a little lower than otherwise might be the case, with the relative humidity maintained at higher levels.

The Kelo Sauna has a direct exit to the outdoor area, where a small path leads to our open-air whirlpool. Once there, you will be able to sit in neck-high water and truly unwind.

Our second sauna, the Tauern Crystal Sauna, is also made of Finnish wood, but is heated to higher temperatures, which means it has a lower humidity. And of course, both saunas have windows with views of the mountain world surrounding Obertauern. Also new is the steam bath, which was designed to incorporate hand-shaped ceramics.

The Tepidarium with salt-water fountain, - the Brine Bath is intended to provide the well-known health benefits of the salty climate associated with sea air.

In addition to two high-performance tanning beds, the immersion pool with Tauern spring water (brr...) and the Panorama Relaxation Area, our new facility also offers numerous small details with which our guests can physically and mentally enhance their stay at Sporthotel Cinderella.
