What we're doing

Dear Guests and Friends,

With brand-new trappings, we hope to awaken your longing for a winter vacation spent here with us once again. During this summer and autumn, particularly intensive efforts have gone into improving the ski slopes of Obertauern (Alm and Zehnerkar hills).

Hard work is also going on at the nearby "Freudenhaus" – where the focus will be on the joys of shopping. Steady, though slow progress is being made in expanding the slopes in the Bärwurzkar area. We hope that, just as with a good wine, the longer and more slowly it is allowed to mature, the better it will be in the end.

Expansion plans relating to Hotel Taurach are also being intensively developed, though it will probably take a while until we get to that point. Sporthotel Cinderella is acquiring a new entrance area.

This summer we added another small room to the Gruberstadl on the top floor. One reason for this was that, when we were doing good après-ski business, it was very tough to provide prompt service in the gallery.

We were able to make a very special improvement this year for our staff: Team-Residence Obertauern – we built, and continue to work on a new housing facility for our employees close to the sports center.

The past winter brought our kids varying degrees of success. Johannes had to get used to the fact that a top-3 finish is also a very nice result. Now he has finished elementary school here with us, he will take on his next educational challenge at a school close to Salzburg, which means, unfortunately, that skiing will have to wait for the weekend from now on. Mia-Carolina chalked up some great ski results last year – with a top-10 finish in the European Championship for Kids. She is sure to make intensive, almost daily use of the slopes in and around Obertauern in the upcoming years.
